BEIJING – China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.21 percent to 3,584.18 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.67 percent to end at 14,770.8 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.19 percent to 3,204.14 points in the morning session Monday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
