BEIJING – China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.6 percent at 3,553.21 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went up 1.53 percent to end at 14,728.25 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.89 percent to 3,199.07 points in the morning session Tuesday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
