BEIJING – China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.43 percent to 3,709.05 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.59 percent to end at 14,785.98 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 0.36 percent to 3,233.43 points in the morning session Friday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
